ATC not having radar is not an issue, the US military most certainly had multiple radars in range. They could tell the tanker to divert way earlier. They wanted an incident.

Well it’s science fiction. Being ‘genetically perfect’ (rofl) will impart less of an advantage than actually existing, mundane factors such as wealth and which country you were born in. Hell, the biggest advantage they could get is making sure their children is of the ‘right’ color.
I do not even think the biggest assholes like say Musk would genetically modify their children. He already thinks he is perfect.
I can also think of a few factors that would disadvantage poor people more than lack of eugenics.
Lack of healthcare. Climate change leading to people having to abandon their homeland and also exacerbating another factor. Bad nutrition. Bad education in combination with disinformation by wealth controlled media.
Genetic modification is not really a problem. It could also help some people if we fix our politics and make sure people get access to healthcare based on needs rather than means.

I agree that Play integrity is a huge problem and a way for Google to maintain control of Android.
However a Linux phone wouldn’t solve that at least in the beginning.
The devs who don’t allow apps to run on devices that do not pass Play integrity are unlikely to make a Linux phone app.
That does not make sense. Even in the worse scenarios Android would be more open than Apple and there would be Android options unaffected by this. Not many and not the most mainstream, though certainly more so than non-Android Linux phones.

On that note, the breakdown of what is sent, how and when is absolutely dependent on your account login. If it was not then there would be nothing to complain about. That doesn’t mean they don’t send anything without an account (unless you’re not online at all, obviously), but the payload of information will be different and in some cases some calls may be dependent on you having an ID in the first place. Plus there’s the question of whether unsigned users leave any connection to the account that activated the Windows install. Which I don’t know about and you clearly don’t care about.
I 'd rather disable telemetry totally. Windows does have installation wide keys, even if Microsoft right now does use it to connect accounts to local accounts they can at will.
I do agree with you that “I installed Linux for my grandma” is not “helping”, either, but I didn’t say I do that, either.

Telemetry does not depend on using a remote account, if you don’t disable the relevant settings and services windows will still send data to Microsoft. Obviously a Microsoft account provides more identifying information to Microsoft.
I wonder why most people, according to you at least, warned that Microsoft would disable previous methods but Plummer doesn’t.
As for all that ‘agenda, hardcore, uncompromising’ bullshit, I 've only installed Linux on my own and my immediate family’s computers, cause they are the computers I will have to fix (or fix) if they are not working. I have installed Windows many more times both on my own machines as well on friends etc because that’s what they wanted. There’s no point in pushing stuff on people.

I don’t care about MacOS not having the same issue because I don’t own a Mac nor do I plan on buying one. Nobody even asks me to run MacOS software or help them with their Mac. Windows is unfortunately much more pervasive and unavoidable.
The major issue with these workarounds is that they are presented as permanent solutions. They are not, just like Microsoft took away OOBE or whatever they did, they can also disable local accounts in the future. Kicking the can down the road will not work forever.

You can get an android with microSD and 3.5mm jack for 250€.
You can still run all the software you want. Adblockers, torrent clients, emulators, even… browsers! There will still be new android phones that won’t suffer those limitations. They will also be cheaper than iphones.
Don’t get me wrong android is in a bad trajectory, it’s true that’s Google has been enshitificating as much as it can get away with. It’s still light years ahead of iOS.
If anybody cares for privacy or control of their devices, saving Android, even in alternative versions/vendors, is a much more viable option than switching to iPhone.
