I would imagine they have some beautiful, world class couches in the Vatican. I can only imagine what the Pope walked in on!

Right! You see, this will increase global manufacturing’s need for oil for all that extra shipping, thus raising the price of oil, so US oil makes us all* rich!
“Better partner than Trump” is the lowest fucking bar that ever existed.
Pride is also not really about who “won” or “lost.” It’s a celebration of the culture and a reminder of the struggles of the past. Plenty of groups hold parades around the US for similar reasons.
Same. The sweep feature is great for things from online shops I haven’t unsubscribed from yet.
Echoing what seems like an overwhelming consensus. This isn’t a good reason to hold off on college. Not knowing what you want to do in college is a good reason to wait. You both need to be able to stand and succeed on your own before you can be there for each other. Beyond all of this, he has already given you his feelings about this. You should respect that.
It really doesn’t. We all know women are people. Saying he likes strangling “people” overlooks the misogyny in his actions… which is pretty much his brand. This particular piece of shit sees women as things that he can control. If anyone doesn’t see them as humans, it’s Tate.
If I understood correctly, he manually runs watchtower to poll rather than leaving it running all the time. What wasn’t clear to me was if he has it doing the updates (evidenced by him saying he cleans up where needed after) or just pull down the updated images and he then manually restarts/rebuilds the container.
I leave it running all the time and it only updates at something like 03:00. The only containers I don’t have set to latest are DBs as major updates tend to break things.
I’m curious about the same thing, but also curious what you’re using your traditional hosting for. I also have had DH shared hosting for years and never had an issue. I don’t know if I’m ready to drop it, but not sure if I still need it.
The fist headline I saw on this was full-on click-bait. Just said American was killed, so I think, “oh shit, things might get interesting.” Then I open and see in the first paragraph it was a Palestinian American, and immediately think “well shit, the people who matter aren’t going to care.” Honestly, I’m surprised any part of me still thought anyone who mattered might care at all.
So that username isn’t tongue-in-cheek, then. Got it.
What about Turkey? I know this isn’t about them, but it’s kind of the same problem.
I have a friend who changed his some time in his 30s or 40s. Not sure what the significance of his new first name was, but he had been named after his dad. He also too his mom’s maiden name as his last name.
Needs a last frame where the money is taken and the vendor says, with a smile, “No.”
Another IT person here. Same answer as was already stated. I self-host the stuff I have to meet my requirements. I don’t need a Lemmy instance. If world goes away, I’ll set up somewhere else and continue with my life.
So 9-5, and often way more than that, is spent computering for money. Free time needs to have as little “have to do” computering as possible.
Before deleting most of my Reddit stuff, I had a good conversation with a conservative about climate change. They pulled out all the standard right wing talking points, and I tried to remain respectful as I provided sources that refuted every one. One they threw out that I hadn’t heard of at the time was “global wobbling,” which I had to look up. 10- minutes later, I responded, with sources, saying that it was yet another thing the right throws out to confuse the issue for voters, but something climate scientists are well aware of and can measure and predict. At that point, they thanked me for all the info and said they had some reading to do. That’s the best I’ve ever gotten. Don’t know if they changed their view, though.
Yeah, do we really need a deep dive for RCA here!? It’s pretty obvious that incompetent people behaved incompetently.
Magneto is the manifestation of the saying, “one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter.” You could probably reasonably say:
Professor X : Magneto :: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. : Malcom X
Professor X and the X-Men were all for mutant equality, but they always favored peaceful acceptance. Conversely, Magneto recognized that large portions of society would never accept mutants. It also bears mentioning that Magneto carried some “racist” (for lack of a better word) tendencies towards non-mutants. In his view, non-mutants are lesser beings.
Seriously though:
