  • I think the meme is classist because it directs anger toward the people living in the pictured low-income housing. People who have the least control over the forces shaping their lives. Meanwhile, the billionaire class, who paid a hefty and blood-soaked price to keep them uneducated and inundated with right-wing propaganda, escape scrutiny.

Don’t get me wrong, the people in that picture probably suck. They’re more of a symptom tho.

  • I have a brother laser printer for black and white stuff and an Epson EcoTank for high quality color printing. I replace the toner on my brother printer maybe once every 2 to 3 years under heavy use. The EcoTank doesn’t use printer cartridges, just straight up bottles of ink that you use to fill reservoirs. It lasts quite a while, but I use this printer considerably less than the brother.

Brother is by and far the best choice for laser printers imo.

  • Dunning Kruger.

Your body is so much more complicated than a function that takes calories as input and outputs an expected result. You need more than just calories, you need nutrients. A nutrient deficient person does not burn calories the same way a person with a balanced diet does.

Like just think for a second. Is the only variable of food that matters is calories, then why do you need vitamins? Why do we split calories into categories like protein, carbs, veggies, fruits, etc? Why can you get a PhD in nutrition if it’s only as simple as calories in calories out?

The simple answer is it’s not simple. Asserting that it is when it isn’t creates some terrible narratives around exercise, diet, and body image.
