Why don’t they go the way of England and declare him god emperor Trump?

I don’t think the comment is suggesting they criticize Protestantism. I think they are suggesting that US Catholics faith no longer aligns with the Vatican and that it’s diverged to the point that in no longer even represents the idea of Christianity at large (Protestants) and more just some new thing (presumably where people pretend to read the Bible and just ignore all the commandments).
Yea, I’m not gonna start criticizing him because I’ll just never stop, but I’ll at least agree with your point.
For what it’s worth, what the pope actually says/does has started mattering very little anyways. They no longer even pretend to care.
Did not have a Henry VIII style split with the church on my bingo card, but let’s just get it over with. Can’t wait for US Catholics to get the option to openly follow their one true religion: Cheap, poorly managed, failing attempts at white American hegemony and hate.
As a US citizen who has legitimate concerns about this administration affecting my right to exist here, please let me assure you that your struggle is real and important. You should not compare what you’re facing with anyone else’s struggles, except to empathize with them. They say comparison is the thief of joy and that is true in multiple ways. Your issues deserve to be addressed. I truly hope things get better for everyone.
A comment above provides context for what those symbols actually stand for economically. It’s not just made up (to the extent that economics is not made up).
Yea, I was definitely not denying it. Just wondering why someone who is morally against it would do it in the first place.
I’m glad that they are speaking out, but why didn’t they say no? He says they tried to talk their commanding officer out of it, but then they just did it anyway? If they knew it was wrong, why didn’t they do it? Again, glad they’re speaking out, but it’s so weird that they did it in the first place.
I think it’s valid to address issues with proposed solutions, especially prior to their implementation. For what it’s worth, their argument is not entirely sound, since most these proposals have built in subsidies for home buyers, but it’s good that they are providing their perspective.
I don’t watch him, and everything I know is from second hand accounts, but there is real trauma associated with poverty. As someone who grew up poor (sometimes, not all the time), with family that also grew up poor, it really affects your mentality. I’m not saying it’s necessarily a distinct mental illness, and you can make the argument that everyone’s life circumstances affect their mental state, but that seems like a level of trauma that is affecting his life and health. I’d say it’s abnormal at least, if not actually diagnosable. There’s a lack of love and respect for yourself that must be occurring to live like that. No one deserves to live like that and the fact he was possibly raised like that and thinks it’s acceptable is truly devastating. I hope he gets help. This makes his statement seem like less of a “fuck these people” kind of thing and more of a “no one ever showed me love or empathy or cared for me so I have no concept of how to extend that to others.” Legitimately extremely sad.
