There are plenty of warnings and social commentary in stories that don’t have to actually come true as told in the text to be relevant enough to pay attention and apply it to reality. Are you suggesting that none of any past scifi has ever had anything important to the real world in either technology, application of it, or social dangers?
That’s the idea. Most of this type of media is meant to serve as a warning, not a roadmap. Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t glorification of fighting a dystopia, a warning that if we allow this dystopia to happen, we have no option but to fight from a worse position.
