The Houthi fighters moved closer to gaining a definitive stranglehold over Bab el Mandeb after a rapid reignition of their conflict with U.S. ally Saudi Arabia and the internationally backed Yemeni government.
For mostly self-inflicted reasons. If those guys weren’t American vassal states they’d have just negotiated with Iran and the Houthis for safe passage for their ships.
I was going to argue that the strait is between Spain and Morroco but there is indeed a 7 km^2 UK “british overseas territory” right there at the tip. TIL.
