Meeting a week later : its no secret the economy is in trouble, and we’re not immune either, there will be no bonuses or raises, and we will have to start looking at cutbacks
Capitalism working exactly as intended. They siphon off most of the profits and benefits and toss a few crumbs out to us on occasion.
People don’t seem to comprehend just how much money gets collected by the people at the top of their corporation pyramid scheme.
You work your ass off, generate millions of profit for the company, the CEO gets to take 99% of it for him and his lazy gang of thieves and maybe everyone else gets a few thousand as a bonus. Maybe.
Or they blow it on AI and blow and then lay people off to fix their mistakes.
Someone making a profit simply from “owning” it or being at the top and contributing 0 is a crime against us all.
During COVID: we made record profits!!! But we can’t afford to give anyone raises
During AI: We spent too much money on tokens. So we can’t afford to give anyone raises.
