i was reading earlier that this is looking more and more like ENRON style accounting and acquisition. That ended badly but it didn’t happen on a scale that NVIDIA is currently treading

if you have an REI near you, their branded stuff is usually above average and if it doesn’t hold up, you can get a refund or excange easily enough

yeah he was mumbling just like Beavis all right!

yeah, the people that can do it are usually very dedicated and reliable
working there, you truly see the staff are like family and you have to look out for each other like they are your flesh and blood

I worked at a state mental hospital so I can’t really tell my stories but mostly the stuff that happens is painfully sad and the way it bleeds over to the staff is awful.
one of my coworkers murdered his ex girlfriend who was also an employee , he tried to murder her daughter but thankfully she survived
Doctor on his last day before retirement getting attacked by a patient that bites into his calf and won’t let go until the staff pulled them away from each other. I had to prepare a copy of the tape for the legal system and while I was reviewing the footage, I watched a couple of other patients doing something odd. It looks like a drug deal between patients while everyone is occupied by the commotion.
So I get the head nurse to look at it with me and we can’t really see until she recognizes the candy wrappers. I never fully found out what happened but supposedly the patients do dirty tricks for each other sometimes and candies can be currency
there was a whole ward that was dedicated to a single patient because they were unpredictable and violent. Rumor was that the cops found him with a family members head in a bag when they picked him up.
I remember this nice enough guy asking me for a cigarette and since I don’t smoke I said no. He got a little goofy and rambled about fire. My coworker told me he burned his family home and killed everyone in it.
I’m like who is Sarah Payne… oh shit thats probably not it… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Sarah_Payne
I had a wall like this in the basement of my old house, behind it was cement and the 2x4s and drywall didnt start till above it. I started to take it down and realized it was better then the cement and put it back up and painted it. Sometimes one ugly is better then another.

opiates
there’s many street names for it but basically “the nods” makes the most sense. They are literally falling asleep
word salad

I think you’re right!

artificial because killing a tree is repulsive to me. killing a tree for a tradition full of lies makes it even more repulsive
I didn’t realize that Yoko had a daughter

could be that someone has the night sweats something fierce
when I was on antianxiety pills, I’d get the night sweats so bad, I would wake up drenched and my side of the bed would be soaked
I thought about sleeping on a towel a couple times

i see the duck (lower right hand corner)
but my question now is… is that dude eating her ass?
while that is true, it is also true that a majority of boomers I know are worth this feeling of contempt and loathing

it was foot ball because it was a ball game played on your feet. Rugby was foot ball you played with your hands and Association foot ball was kicked. People called it soccer before it was formally called football (without the space)

https://www.britannica.com/story/why-do-some-people-call-football-soccer
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_(word)
The word “soccer” originated as an Oxford “-er” slang abbreviation of “association”, and is credited to late nineteenth century English footballer, Charles Wreford-Brown.[8] It has been speculated that both this story and the William Webb Ellis rugby story are apocryphal, however this appears to be a revision of history as the English term “soccer” fell out of favour while England differentiated their language from America’s (where the term soccer had become widely used) English in the 20th century due to growing American popularity.[9] “Socker” with a k appeared in print at least as early as 1889.[10] The New York Times, published in 1905: “It was a fad at Oxford and Cambridge to use ‘er’ at the end of many words, such as foot-er, sport-er, and as Association did not take an ‘er’ easily, it was, and is, sometimes spoken of as Soccer.”[11] There is also the sometimes-heard variation, “soccer football”.[12]

dude, just look it up
it’s fact. the upper class didn’t want to play soccer because the lower class were playing it so they called it football
up until Counterstrike went to 1.0, I was in the top 100 players off and on. My TFC clan hosted the first dedicated playable servers when it was released. The ladders would kill you if you jumped off them lol in the initial release.
I ran the second most popular counterstrike skins page for a few years
One week I decided to see how high I could rank in the gamespy/wql leaderboards and I peaked at 16 for the week. I got into the top 10 for the day a couple times. I remember facing most of the best players of that era. or at least the people that played on gamespy or world quake leaderboards reporting servers.
But I stopped playing and then the 1.0 version came out and my days off really took my edge off. I was never able to really get into it again. I’ve never played the latest version of it.
one time while I dropped acid and played it, I was so in the zone I had a 40+ killing streak. I never cheated but was banned from a lot of servers for dominating so much.
as a joke my friends and I would all play as teen pop stars or we’d pick silly names like mine was often “little yellow flower” lol because it would piss off the hardcore kids when we’d post screenshots of them getting crushed
