I haven’t “dreamed” in so many years ( close to 7 now ) it must be unhealthy, doesn’t matter if I sleep 3 hoursor 12, no dreams ( atleast one’s I can remember )

I’m using nixos-anywhere to install and then deploy-rs to deploy updates to nixos vps’s.
Also using agenix for managing secrects for the services so that I can easilly have them all in a public repo, so that other’s could take a look and take inspiration.
My nixos flake url if you wan’t to take a look.
This week moved all my vps’s to nixos, so am now able to use one flake for my desktop and all my vps’s which significantly lowers down the time I need to manage my vps’s.
Nowto move my proxmox homelab server ( an old desktop pc I bought recently ) and all my server’s/devices witll be running nixos.
EDIT: An issue I’m thinking about is getting a “proper” server. Not a server like a server rack server, but a mini pc or something along those sides wbich would be a lot stronger and a lot more power efficient than the current 10+ y/o desktop pc I’m using currently.
So would like some reccomendations on that front, like what are some good mini pc brands and mini pc’s that I could have raid seted up on for nas or good budget parts and case to make one myself.
Honestly none. I don’y have thr expendable income to do that.
If I had, it couled easilly be 50+ youtubers, podcasters open source software devs, …
I personally don’t use drugs, alchohol, … to cope with reality. I ahve accepted it with how it is and that’s it.
I do occasionally alchohol ( beer mostly ) once half a year by doing a death in elden ring or game i, that ballpark where I die I drink some alch, but that’s just for fun to see how well I fare.
As for coffe ( you mentioned it in another comment ) I just drink it when I have soneone to drink it with.
Stuff like cigs and drugs I never tried ( even thought I had a shitton of chances to try to ) because I never felt like I needed them, even when I wen’t throught some very big depressed episodes.
I mostly just accepted things how they are and try to fill my days with stuff that bring me joy and fullfilment, I don’t try to escape from those feelings, but live alongside them.
In this video you have a nice part where wolfgang expains the diff between ansible and nixos, would recommend a watch.
“Tonight”, man it’s 7:46am /s
Either way on the proccess of moving all my vps’s and local homeserver all to nixos, just for the fact I can easilly update them all from one flake ( nixos system config ) from one single system without ever directly touching thise system.
Also almost finished the whole “The witcher the last wish” book, need to buy the next one.
Imagine having an AC.
The most random stupid pic of my self, repulsive enough to make everyone drop the phone in discust.
Works amazing to stop people trying to snoop.
Depends on what you run on your system, but when my system idles my cpu is at literal 0%, ram at 600mb and disk usage is 0% (nvme), which ends up my total power usage to about 3W on idle or something like.
It’s a laptop so doesn’t use a lot.
Sorry, but to clarify no. When your kernel updates if you just log out and log back in you will still keep the same kernel version because linux keeps running a program on same version until you completely turn the program off.
That’s why with the kernel and kernel modules you need to completely restart your system for the kernel to shutdown and use the updated version, it’s just the way that linux works.
Hell you can even use a program after uninstalling it until you close it for a year if you wanted to ( once untistalled my termninal emulator, but still had it’s window opened so just reinstalled it an hour later after realising I can’t spawn a new terminal window )
I just keep my laptop on for weeks on end, until the kernel updates or something else that needs a restart, last 6 months I prob only turned it off 7 times.
And no, I don’t really feel any effects cause it’s linux which doesm’t get clogged up like windows and power usage just idling is the same as just suspending.
Also personally don’t use stuff like suspend or hibernate ever. Even have them completely disabled on my systems.
Note: I’m on nixos not ubuntu tho.
I guess I have it also then, since I can’t really create mental images, but do have up go 100 diff voices talking at times when I’m trying to solve anything.
