Thank you for this. I haven’t figured out what to do with my Surface yet, but this sounds promising.

Storytime! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9Ge8z-nAEg
Not a particular video, but the storytime videos by Thomas Sanders.

Seriously, an open source version would be awesome. You could connect it to your own server running whatever local models you want without needing to worry about that audio/video being processed by some large corporation willing to sell you out along with your data.
What about EndeavorOS?
Someone just got the AWS bill.

If you’re in the U.S., the Institute for Justice does a ton of good work. They’re a nonprofit that picks up cases to help out those who can’t afford to do so. They’ve gotten a lot of cases all the way to the supreme court.
They’re committed to challenging things like qualified immunity, or civil asset forfeiture. Things that really need to be taken on given what we see happening today.

On Windows you can open up a WSL shell or PowerShell session directly to the folder path you want.
Hold ‘Shift’ then right click anywhere inside of a directory and you will get an option to “Open PowerShell window here” as well as to “Open Linux shell here”.

To anyone who is reading this comment without reading through the article. This ruling doesn’t mean that it’s okay to pirate for building a model. Anthropic will still need to go through trial for that:
But he rejected Anthropic’s request to dismiss the case, ruling the firm would have to stand trial over its use of pirated copies to build its library of material.

From the Grayjay FAQ:
Does Grayjay require a subscription?
No, We offer a way to pay for the app once. The app will function identically without paying.

You could use Ruffle since its an emulator for Flash:

Websites like HomestarRunner use this so you can still experience the site as it was intended.

To quote one of my favorite authors:
“I’ve come up with a set of rules that describe our reactions to technologies:
1. Anything that is in the world when you’re born is normal and ordinary and is just a natural part of the way the world works.
2. Anything that’s invented between when you’re fifteen and thirty-five is new and exciting and revolutionary and you can probably get a career in it.
3. Anything invented after you’re thirty-five is against the natural order of things.”

If it’s a question that has no answer (or no useful answer) it’s totally fine to comment with an answer.
I figure that someone will eventually stumble across the same thread that I did if they have a similar question. Might as well contribute and share some knowledge.

It’s not an easy answer, but the best way I’ve found so far is to use GrayJay.
If I find that one of the content creators I follow on YouTube happen to post their content on any other platform, I switch my subscription to that platform.
Besides YouTube they support Nebula, Twitch, Odysee, PeerTube, Dailymotion, Bitchute, Kick, BiliBili, Rumble, Patreon, and more.

One of the best ways to start getting away from YouTube is to use Grayjay.
You can still follow content creators who are only on YouTube, but it allows you to curate your feed and mix in all of the content creators that do upload their content to other platforms like Peertube, Nebula, Odysee, Patreon, Twitch, Kick, Bitchute, Rumble, etc.

Disney lost their old camera tech used to make a “yellow screen” with sodium vapor lights.
It’s actually better than a green screen because the yellow light is so specific that even if you remove that particular frequency of light, everything else still looks fine. You can do all sorts of things that would normally be very difficult to pull off with any of our green screen tech (like drinking water in a clear bottle or wearing a rainbow dress).

So many reposts in this community…
It’s not just PieFed, even on Lemmy there is no link.
This is likely an Mbin issue with federating the links out.
