AI specialists OpenAI, Anthropic, and xAI
lol

Every copy on Linux is personalised. Most are on the brink of collapse.

I’d guess it’s for the same reasons why we can’t have a local account
it’s safe to assume that the company isn’t interested in pouring its engineering resources into pursuing something that won’t benefit a majority of users
I mean, they could just let their awesome Copilot vibe code it, couldn’t they? Another reasons why I love being on Linux; you can do whatever even it it doesn’t make sense to the majority of users.

AI shouldn’t pay taxes, but the companies making them should

Zootopia is great, but its first draft was notoriously quite different and a lot darker, leaning more into the predator vs. prey theme.

Sounds kinda what happened to Zootopia, with the first draft being too daring maybe.
A shame about Elio, the final product is about as bland and uninteresting as an animated movie can get.

I saw Elio recently and… AI can’t possibly write worse plots than this

I’d hope they offer a discount on a new one if you send in your old.
Eh. If they did, they’d probably mention it somewhere.
The problem isn’t the battery life, the problem is how wasteful this whole design is. Best case scenario, the battery lasts 2-3 years. After that it’s pretty much junk. Sure you can send it in to get it (some of its parts) recycled but 1. I doubt many people would actually do that and 2. no one knows if Core Devices will be even around by then.
And what if the battery runs out before then? There’s only a 30 day warranty and if it happens after 31 days you’re screwed.

What the hell? They are delaying their new watches left and right, cancel pre-orders because they ran out of parts, and now they’re doing this, just out of the blue?
A gadget you throw away when the battery runs out is a very dumb idea
It should be outlawed if you ask me. “Battery Life: Years of average use” What if it dies after a month? The warranty they offer is 30 days, meaning that this is pretty much meant to be junk.
Just get an old Sony MP3 recorder…
Oh wait, here’s the best thing. They acknowledge this in their FAQ and that’s one of their reasons:
You’d probably lose the charger before the battery runs out!
Idiots.

I was joking of course. I know about all of Apple’s exploits all too well

Isn’t that a good deal?

the only troubleshooting step apple has is to reimage.
That’s not entirely true. More often than not, the only troubleshooting step the “Apple Certified Professionals” there offer is to buy a new Mac.

That’s like quitting Spotify now because you just realised it still doesn’t offer decent sound quality. It’s far from the only reason to quit using it and not a very good one.

app that cannot be deleted
Someone never heard of ADB…

It had some popular YouTuber’s name on it, that’s enough for some to buy anything

And yes, he’s ragebaiting.
Don’t even know if I’m giving him too much credit here; maybe he is literally dumb enough to advocate for modern slavery.
Yeah, didn’t think so

Since switching to Linux I have nuked my system maybe 5 or 6 times?
When I initially installed it I set the EFI partition to ext4, that caused some trouble when I updated my kernel lol. Grub just stopped working a few times and then just recently I accidentally wrote a floppy disc image to the wrong drive and wiped out my /home partition. Luckily testdisk is a thing.
For everything else I can just rely on my BTRFS snapshots. My drive setup is more than janky, but it works. Every time something went really wrong I was able to fix it myself.
Yeah, it’s not good but this is another “nobody responsible would ever care” type of situation
