Remember when the Fold phones first came out and people were peeling off the screens?

Wife actually accidentally did this once :/
I have definitely seen TVs where there is a top transparant plastic layer that looks like protective film but is absolutely not supposed to come off. I’ve even seen two models of OLED TVs that are very similar, and have plastic on the metal backing. On one of them it says to absolutely not remove the plastic. On the other it says to make sure to remove it, otherwise the TV will overheat.
Even if you know a lot about these kinds of things, don’t be proud and just read the manual / quick start guide. It will tell you what plastic needs to be removed and what needs to stay.
RTFM is a superpower. Manufacturers also spend a ton of time making these.
My car has this on the dash. It’s super fucking annoying cause the glue that’s held it on has failed twice in a year.
It’s a free warranty replacement but fuck man it’s annoying.
And its apparently a rare issue too I just got super fucking unlucky ):
Props to her! My gf struggles when peeling a banana
Why can’t your right hand peel a banana?
I’m a lefty, thank you very much.

Shit. I’m getting rocked left and right today!
it’s made with a non-slip surface.
Yeah sure, the “wife”…just stand up to your own mistakes 😉
The wife probably:
Gotta love those taco flavored kisses!
What a baddy.
I do … she just had a real moment that day.
To be fair, the screen surface did protrude past the bezel, which is rather unusual.
Just pulling your leg, we all do pretty silly stuff.
You were supposed to soak it in water first
*acetone
The smell of acetone always puts me in a great mood
Guys, my new monitor is blindingly bright after pulling the protective film off.
nice lifehack
Wear polarizing sunglasses and now only you can see the screen. Hardware based incognito mode.
What they peeled off looks like the layer of dark stuff, the polarized sheets look different and are usually behind the indium tin oxide coated layer of glass.
I’ve disassembled a lot of monitors.
Try HARDER
Pull the layer off, make glasses out of if. Voilla, privacy monitor
The bezel on mine is so narrow the film hung off the edge enough to know the difference
Using old monitor panels and the diffuser is actually a genius way of installing fake windows.
Someone check this guys basement asap
