Every strategic call they’ve made has been absolute zero-risk moves, because they know that any even minor direct military loss is going to expose their utter incompetence in executing their campaign. Perhaps the biggest “trying to keep anyone from discovering I lied on my resume” in history, because they will lose -everything- if they have to actually have to live up to the strongman image they’ve built up with their base.
