This sounds like hopium. Until Putin starts saying something, assume all that will happen is for everyone quoted to suddenly find a high window.
Not because Ukraine has turned the tide?
The elections in Hungary gave Ukraine a line before their thread snapped, as Hungary’s new government gave them the approval vote for more NATO debt.
Ukraine’s lost on the ground, but now have unlimited drones to make up for the lack of manpower.
I doubt Putin’s political red lines have changed. My guess is some sort of armistice that guarantees Ukraine doesn’t join NATO or attempt to obtain nuclear weapons.
Any effort at lasting peace and keeping the country whole would mean an election, and eastern Ukrainians would have a vote, which would put the Zelenskyy regime out in the cold. (Western Ukrainians don’t like Zelenskyy either, but that’s another story).
Ukraine’s lost on the ground, but now have unlimited drones to make up for the lack of manpower.
They are compensating for a lack of manpower with superior drone capabilities.
Framing that as “lost on the ground” is some serious mental gymnastics.
Not only have they not “lost on the ground”, they have now gained the upper hand on the ground.
Depends… drones are mostly active in the air and provide air superiority, even if only in low altitude.
This is serious cope.
If cheap drones could win the war, then all Russia needs are a fleet of cheap drones to counter this advantage. How can they achieve victory without manpower to hold territory?
They attack with drones, declare temporary victory until Russia destroys their robots and then they’re back to square one, only more in debt to NATO. Not exactly a plan for victory.
weird how the changing reality on the ground paints a different picture to your cope fantasy
Sure, Vova.
Well at least they also ended a lot of their own bloodlines.
A Billion over the course of the next 3-4 generations.
They might be surprised to learn that Ukraine has to agree to end the war before it’ll actually end.
If they give all land including Crimea back and pay sufficient reparations, Ukraine might agree.
I’m pretty sure Ukraine will be reasonable once they leave. Some sanctions though may not be so easy to lift, may be tied to reparations or giving up war criminals.
For a long time, they could have stopped the war any time they wanted by just retreating their troops.
As someone other megalomaniac learned in Iran recently: It takes two to TACO
The Special Military Operation was a success! The economy put up a good fight but after 4 years and more lives and materiel than the Great Patriotic War, the ruble has finally been defeated. Putin finally defeated Russia!
Interesting enough, the ruble is actually quite strong, which does create problems for Russia’s exports, while they are capped on imports by the sanctions so they can’t really make use of that
To save the economy they first need to agree to reparations.
It’s been going on for four years and you are still in deep trouble if you dare calling it a war and not a “special military operation.” I don’t think Russia will be ready to agree to any peace until it’s utterly defeated.
Or until Putin is deposed.
Oh how benevolent of the Russians. /s
“The Russian economy is going to collapse and then the Ukrainians will win” is a line that’s been printed since the war started.
Wouldnt that temporarily fuck the economy even more? Of course at one point you have to stop it before it becomes even worse.
Let em suffer
