He said in a speech he needs chevron and it’s being blown into a smear campaign so he doesn’t win his race. Considering the source, it’s to discourage lesser impact candidates to promote accelerationist or nihilistic views.

For those that aren’t from California. The worst one on that list is PGE. At least in terms of corrupting a Californian politician. Expect the entire state to be on fire.

13.5 mil is chump change compared to remediataion costs for even a small fire in california. Those bribes will be worth every penny. Some corrupt asshat at PG+E deserves a raise and bonus for that.

I’m always floored at how cheap it is to bribe politicians.

These are just the legal bribes. The comfy jobs in the industry waiting for them after they are good little soldiers of capital are another form.

Not to mention these politicians are just holding assets in industries that will profit for the policies they will pass. Directly or indirectly.

SuperPAC funding is only a drop in the bucket.

To be fair, a lot of this money is not because they think Becerra is going to hook them up. It’s because they fear Steyer is going to screw them over.

They’re throwing money at whatever will knock down Steyer.

Just saying they were not too happy about Steyer leading in the polls, and if he does what he says he’ll do, he’s going to aggressively tax those businesses and the people that run them. That’s the biggest part of his platform.

I used to work for companies that did this shit all the damn time. I know it happens because I’ve seen it from the other side the door.
