I cleaned out the junk drawer and found a bunch of Starbucks gift cards that I’ve received for various reasons over the past 15 years. I used one from 2015 today and the barista was mildly surprised and asked where I got such an old-style card. So I told him about the junk drawer.
By the way, from what I remember (years ago), their app let’s you upload gift cards to it. You could upload them en masse that way, especially if you’re worried about some of them having only a few cents on them. Might be more convenient than hauling in a stack of cards and running them until it’s enough
