That source states that his ancestor immigrated to the US but it doesn’t state he became a citizen automatically. Perhaps citizenship or perhaps just legal residency? I don’t care enough to search but the post isn’t disproved by that link.

There are so many meanings deployed by different groups and in different places it’s hard to understand who is the target of the term anymore.

I’m trying to understand this meme, does it refer to classical liberals? Or is it just a euphemism for the US democrat supporters?

I’m not from the US so might be missing nuance.
