  • I think i disagree. ‘Bilionaires’ makes it seem seem like a nebulous group of individuals, like

‘oh <insert random billionaire who hadnt been in the news lately for something evil> just happens to have a ton of money, you can’t hold that against them without evaluating their actions as an individual’

The problem is that they are a class, or rather that the class exists as a class and that they are use their power, act as and are catered to, as a class.

If there were 100 individuals around the word who just happened to have assets valuing 1,000,000,000$ or more, even if they owned shitty companies companies and were all assholes, that would be one thing.

Assuming they not associate with each other, conspire together to warp society and governments to their shared wills etc, it would be a far different world.

If they were seen as just rare individuals, governments would not bend to their whims; one billionaire threatens to offshore his buisness unless he gets favorable laws, to ignore taxes etc, the country threatens to nationalism his buisness, or just locks his ass up. I one guy is found to be bribing one or countless politicians, thats a treasonous scandal.

When a couple dozen are making these threats in lockstep, they are holding the country’s economy hostage. And when between them they are bribing all the politicians, that becomes the staus quo.

its when they act as a class that its a real problem.

  • I think the point is that they werent doing it before the war. (Because it was so much more costly)

Getting that kind of infrastructure set up will take time. Were talking hundreds of refrigerated trucks and a couple thousand miles. Longer depending on where they come in from. Are they trucking across Saudi Arabia? Landing shipping vessels in a port outside of the strait and running along the coastal roads within Iran’s drones range?

  • I dated a rich girl for a while who didnt cook, none of her family could. They had a part time maid who would cook for them a bit but mostly ate out and brought home extra meals. Like literally, every time they went out they’d order a couple extra meals to go.

At one point the mom was sad she couldnt get shrimp scampi anywhere in town. So I cooked dinner for them, because NBD. They thought it was magic, doubly so because im a guy. I litterally had to remove the plastic wrapping off the inside of the oven door to make garlic bread, and all the pots and pans still had stickers in the bottom.

At one pojnt I also had to teach my 38 year old GF how to operate a washer and dryer.

  • Unless im missing something about the design, theres a fairly common bit already on the market that works for this, and Id assume most auto shops already have laying around. My dewalt 50 piece came with one…
    Bit looks like ( https://share.google/KHdg0HfO6zC9bab9O)

That one of those 2 pin spanner wrencheswith one on an arm that swings to adjust size, as far as asshole design security screws go, im not too mad at this… accomplishes what it needs to (keeping some rando with a screwdriver in his pocket from just deciding to undo some exposed screws for ‘fun’, or stealing your car trim) without being so proprietary pwople who arent preppared can’t undo it with tools at hand (like the apple Pentalobe screws, and various triangle and tritip Philips variants, really anything with an odd number of contact points is immediatly more of a pita)
