  • If you gave the goodest person in the world a billion dollars, you’d technically have a good person who was a billionaire, so my declaration would be wrong. But only for as long as it takes them to get rid of it.

I don’t know about Melinda Gates (literally haven’t heard anything), but MacKenzie Scott does seem to be burdened by the money at least somewhat and has been shoveling it away.

But if you compare, JK Rowling couldn’t bear being a billionaire, and it turns out that she’s a world-class asshole. Maybe if you’re MacKenzie Scott rich, it’s just hard to give the money away quickly, and we’ll see her end up with less than a billion however long that takes. Otherwise, I think she’s got to be at least as much of an asshole as Rowling.

  • There does not exist a good person who is also a billionaire.

Yes, they can do good things. Mark Cuban has done some good things, but a good person would feel burdened by having too much money and would be compelled to use it to help others. I think you can be a good person and still want a super-easy life for yourself, but a billion dollars is way more than you need to fulfill that goal.

  • I have been following British media a bit and unless I am mistaken, this Mandelson chap ran afoul of his Epstein conduct back in September, which was before the DOJ even started releasing the Epstein files as part of the Epstein act, which hadn’t passed at the time. The subsequent release and redactions seem to have exposed even more, but his goose was cooked before that.

Current allegations are that Mandelson handed Epstein extremely sensitive government information. I forget what Brits call it, but we’d say it was classified.

And it currently seems like PM Kier Starmer is probably going to fall with him, since he apparently knew about Mendelson’s continuing association with post-conviction Epstein.

Anyways, that one particularly seems somewhat unrelated to the redaction choices.

  • Assume for a moment that AI really was taking all of these types of jobs, which by the way, almost certainly includes CEOs. It would only be a matter of time before robots take those other jobs he’s talking about.

A normal human of normal intelligence would see that and conclude that people simply wouldn’t have to work anymore. And that therefore, everyone should have their basic necessities taken care of by their governments.

People would be free to do whatever they want, whether it be “humanities” work or creating things or whatever. We’re no longer constrained by the fact that our lives depend on our usefulness in jobs to the ruling class.

Only a member of that ruling class would see themselves as indispensable and others as slave labor.

  • First, it was a joke in response to a joke. That much should be obvious to anyone. So it has the accuracy inherent in a joke.

And second, since it was about large numbers of people, it was obviously a claim about the vast majorities and not a statement indicating, for example, that there were zero exceptions.

The offense is more in the responses than in the original comment. The comment first got many upvotes because it’s obviously a joke. But then some people with poor reading comprehension invented offense and responded like it was obvious, then everyone started acting like chickens with their heads cut off. The people who could read and think for themselves didn’t respond because it’s obviously just a stupid joke.

  • Yes, of course. You cannot be serious. One, he’s the only male victim that I’ve heard of, and I’ve only just heard of him. Every news source talks about victims as girls or “young women.” So, every news source, even to this very day also implies that that class doesn’t exist.

When I tried to search for his story, I had to use more than one search engine to find anything. DuckDuckGo literally had zero results for “Trump ‘tent stake’”. I had to go to google.

I’m glad that you’re out there letting people know about this guy, but you know that his class is a small minority and almost unknown to the mainstream.

  • They said “half of global high society,” so we’re talking about statistics, not whether a few women went there.

So, you could try to accept reality, or you could live in a fantasy world where the vast majority of the powerful elite going to Epstein’s Island for illicit purposes weren’t men. Epstein’s victims were girls. Have you even heard of a boy being trafficked by him? Most people are cis-gender. History is packed full of men seeking power over girls and young women, but now we are going to choose to be blind to reality in favor of political correctness?

Jesus Christ. Just a few days ago I posted here that I was disappointed in everybody in the world, but at the time, I thought it was a joke.
