Oh I know that’s why I made the point of morally good/bad not being part of the equation. Just interesting. I saw some CRAZY videos of them in public. So, I looked into their general ideas and beliefs. They are like half the reason I made the thread.

Very historically interesting group.

Yeah they’ve inspired some really cool fictional characters.

Yeah, I’m not a fan of them but its an interesting philosophy to learn about.

Very interesting.

I’m not typically in favor of bombing things. You know, like in general. That said, blowing up a statue, waiting for it to be rebuilt and then blowing it up again is pretty funny.

Yeah lots of meh in that kind of thing in my experience.

Oh that’s interesting! I had a different internal definition of the term. Thanks for sharing!

I don’t block anyone but I do post frequently. I only ever get annoyed when someone is posting the same thing in multiple communities at the same time.

Because the files damn leaders political and industry on a global level. It’s not just American ones and Trump. Lots of money from lots of different pockets are shielding them. We have war and reflecting pools to talk about anyway, forget about that pesky global elite pedophile ring /s. Should it happen, yes, will it happen, no.

Somehow, shockingly, worse than human ones.

I just try to keep in mind that even though shits rough right now its still better than just about any time in the history of humanity for the largest number of people. The fact we want better is good and is the only way we will get it. That said, trying to keep the historical context of quality of life is helpful. Less time in doom areas of the internet. I also do a good bit for my local community (volunteering and donating some things I produce on my farm)

Oh, I mean yeah they are bad people and based off real people that existed. The Judge is also literally an allegory for the devil/pure evil. Its a good book about bad people. The Road might be more your speed. Still plenty of evil characters but at least your protagonists are good. The boy in that story is basically the antithesis of the judge and is representative of purity in the face of evil. Still has some particularly rough parts. I get what you’re saying though. I tapped out of American Psycho for like 3 years after one particularly rough section, only finished it recently. Different author but the only book I’ve had to put down.

I haven’t tried to audio book his stuff. The style of writing seems like it wouldn’t translate well. I think Blood Meridian is my second favorite book he wrote.

Thanks babe

I’m a mechanical engineer working on the operations side of a large power plant. I’ve worked in a few different types of plants but ultimately landed in a big Co-Generation plant. Knowing what I do, the actual arguments against nuclear are pretty flimsy. It’s just better in almost every way especially compared to solid fuel. I strongly believe that there is a place for every method of generating we currently use (excluding coal for the most part). Main generating electricity can and should come from nuclear on the most wide scale with hydro, solar and wind being a large chunk where geographically most viable. While nat gas and liquid fuel should mostly be used in peaker plants and large scale essential buildings like hospitals. I hope to work in a nuclear plant eventually and have positioned myself to be qualified to do so.
