  • The giant portions thing is a cultural left over in a lot of ways, food used to be cooked in a far more communal method and often combined supper and lunch then a snack later at night. For example apparently my 2x great grandfather ensured a small feast for him, my great grandfather, his wife (remarried technically not my ancestor), and all the temp workers during harvest. That’s not even getting into things like potlucks.

As for sugar I blame the post war period, arguably the amount of sugar in shit has been decreasing slowly since the 90s but it’s a slow generational thing.

  • Fallout NV

While it may not be everyone’s cup of tea there’s something about playing NV with radio NV running and running around the emptier parts of the map, then I get jumped by a bunch Romaboo larpers.

    Arcanum

While it’s immesian is a bit different it’s music and story telling can drag me in easily.

    Outer wilds

Death is inevitable, so you may as well enjoy some music with your pals.

  • The Jedi were integrated into the Republic as a peacekeeping/ humanitarian/ advisery organization after Darth Bane more or less wiped out the Sith Brotherhood and much of the Jedi led Army of Light at the end of the New Sith Wars. Though both before and after the New Sith Wars there were points where there were Jedi chancellors or even the Jedi de facto taking over when the Republic more or less collapsed a couple time, not even getting into military leader like Revan, Surik, or Lord Hoth who held military positions within the Republic.

  • I was kinda figuring that it’s after the episode where they get over whatever gripes they have with Costco. Dale most certainly not have a membership card but Hank takes him anyways. Also I don’t think Hank would think it’s communism since Costco is actually a pretty damned good example of Capitalism done right with it undermining competition via lower prices using clever tricks rather than market dominance, he would probably have a different gripes like how far away it is versus how much they save or thinking they’re fucking over customers in some unseen way like selling old food or something.

I imagine it’d probably be something along the lines of Peggy dragging Hank to Costco and Dale tagging along for one reason or another. I could also see it becoming a mild gag in later episodes where Dale and Hank come back from Costco with mostly normal things but Dale buying the occasional weird shit in bulk.

  • Especially since at least in my opinion using metropolitan on a county level is kinda stupid, maybe it works on the east coast and with smaller counties but still once you apply it to say San Bernardino, Riverside, and Kern you’ve over applied it. Seriously San Bernardino is bigger than some countries and states, which for reference Rhode Island is about 1,500 square miles while San Bernardino is about 20,000 square miles with probably only half of that being populated with any amount of reasonable density. Source for the density I’m from this county and get pegged by random assholes outside the state as being from San Bernardino county hell some of the more experienced ones can even guess who I’m related to.
