Personally I use the chatbot side panel once in a while, it doesn’t get too much in the way while doing something else.

But all the other features using a small trained model are legit nice (translation, image captioning) and thankfully all optional.

They need to build their own privacy-oriented services, and offer different tiers. Yeah Lifetime Passes are unsustainable for a service. The only reason they exist is to attract some early adopters, keep them and if lucky enough have them bring more customers.

The only viable path forward is to discontinue the purchase of new lifetime licenses, or make them exponentially expensive.

A new client specifically for Vaultwarden will show up if Bitwarden becomes hostiles against it and purposely sabotage the API.

The more time goes by, the more I’m interested about software and hardware that tries to do more with less at the consumer and enthusiast level.

Ex: ESP-based projects and products, Meshtastic/MeshCore, eInk-based displays for lower energy consumption, etc
