Yea I don’t know why people think that this AI bubble is just in the USA, this is a global race, not just a US thing.

I know they’re mutual funds but there was rules if I remember that didn’t allow the 401k funds to be used for high risk stocks like these.

Did the rule that allows 401k to be invested in stocks like this shit get passed? Cause that’s going to fuck so many peoples retirement (mine included). And when these companies pop, we’re going to be holding the bag.

It’s not even that, building a firearm…is legal…this shit going after printers makes no sense at all, it’s fucking legal to print firearm parts.

This is the one I’m talking about.

What sucks is that it ruins relationships for those of us who know the person has it but they don’t think they do or use the Internet to do a “lol I have ADHD, what’s your super power?”. I have a ton of sympathy for you all who know you have it and want help but have docs who think you’re just fine, because everyone these days runs around saying they have it.
If you can’t tell I’m dealing with this situation, and they are basically pushing me away because they think they’re just fine, and I’m the issue. Yet all their relationships always end in the other person being the issue, and everyone being against them. ADHD sucks and it’s so shit how social media has turned it into just some joke. Like it’s a “hah” disorder and not a life altering disorder that needs serious help.

Lol this is great! It’s even better than the Jumanji one

Well they’ll have the insider knowledge before anyone else.

It is odd that the 3 big players are trying to rush to IPO… probably to dump their shit and cash out before the bag holders have time to sell… I’ve got a feeling they know it’s going to crash soon.

And those of us who don’t have it but live with someone who does and doesn’t think they need meds to help… it’s a terrible disorder that doesn’t just effect the person who has it. I really really hate that it’s downplayed so much on the Internet.

No they were not, that was the last time most younger people were able to afford homes.
https://www.thezebra.com/resources/home/housing-trends-visualized/
The median house of 1960 would cost just $104,619 in 2020 dollars, far below the actual cost of $240,500, meaning housing costs have increased by 129%.
Homes have become less affordable: In 1960, approximately 68 out of 100 Americans could afford a home, but now only around 43 out of 100 can afford one.
Among 18 to 34 year olds, nearly twice as many people live at home with their parents in 2020 than in 1960.
Even in the 90s when the rates were in the teens more people owned homes.
The average age for first time home owners has gone up a lot as well.
Low rates do not equal more affordable housing, they end up pricing people out of the market at a much greater rate.

Only thing I can think of running ide out there are old industrial machines, like CNC stuff…but servers in a DC??? What year is it!?

Mortgage interest rates were in the high teens
And it kept the price of houses affordable. The interest rates today are stupid low and are what caused the shit market we have now.

Theoretically yes, but most sata drives were faster than ide drives. So it ends up being a wash really…USB 2.0 being the bottle neck and ide drive speed and it not being able to completely hit ATA133s transfer rate really. I still bet that while on paper the IDE looks faster, it’ll be slower in real world.

You could have gotten a sata enclosure and had faster speeds over USB 2.0 lol but if I remember correctly, back then the first released sata enclosures were like $100.

Holy crap, I didn’t realize they kept making the drives large after sata came out. I jumped on that tech real quick once it showed up. IDE was such a pain in the ass for air flow and well making the PC look clean. I remember some people cutting the ide cable so you could roll them into a sleeve vs having a fat ribbon cable.

When I mean toe shoes, I don’t mean the ones that look like you got toes. I mean that they’re not like running shoes or well any other shoe that has a hard sole. More like you said ballet shoes but more flex and grip.
There are some I have worked for that also believe the earth is 6k years old and that evolution is fake and that dinosaurs weren’t real… plenty of idiots in stem fields.
The other thread about the h1bs and trump wanting to add a $100k price tag to them has a bunch of ignorant people in it, who do not understand how abusive companies are with h1bs. It’s literally modern day indentured servitude. They pay low wages to the h1bs which in turn keep the wages they would pay to citizens low. They also hold the h1b visas hostage, as they can basically tell the employee, if you don’t like the pay then you can go back home. It’s a lose lose, and anyone suggesting it’s not is naive at best and an idiot at worse.
