Like yes, money is needed to pay people money. That assumes we want to keep the system more or less exactly the same.

I like it. Reminds me a little of Citizen Kane.

Reminds me of depression era Hollywood. The common theme was how rich people are unhappy, and people living on the edge of broke are living the most fulfilling and happy lives. Frank Capra was the king of movies like that. It Happened One Night (1934), You Can’t Take it With You (1938), Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939). Among so many others. My Man Godfrey (1936).
There’s enough that I can name ones just about poor people pretending to be royalty. Midnight (1939), Trouble in Paradise (1932), The Lady Eve (1941), Thirty Day Princess (1934), The Princess Comes Across (1936). And the previously mentioned Frank Capra also made Lady for a Day (1933), and remade it as Pocketful of Miracles (1961). All of those movies are about poor people pretending to be rich, all of them are romantic movies about the rich and poor falling in love with each other.
John Q (2002) is a Denzel Washington movie where he takes an ER hostage until they’ll give his son a heart transplant. Feels even more relatable today. Kind of a different angle, not really about rich people.
EDIT: Easy Living (1937) is a great screwball comedy. A rich man throws an expensive fur coat out the window. A poor girl finds it, and suddenly gets treated like she’s rich. Strongly recommend.

Wow the difference in that before/after shot of all the buildings.

People within the USA generally do not know what the world cup is. I don’t expect any preferential treatment.

A new type of police. When has that backfired before?

It’s not worked yet. But like, this is the supposed “edge” that he 2nd amendment gives us. Right here. 2 people have tried it. More will surely try, with enough time.

There have been at least two assassination attempts by lone gunmen. That’s the 2nd amendment in action. So far they haven’t been successful, but a couple have tried.
Customers make a mess. Looters at least empty the shelves.

Because MAGA is in denial. They think Nazis are left wing.
“If we were able to craft an answer for him, what do you think it should be?”

Seriously, kidnap him after his shift helping people, not during. Seems like common sense.

You’re not measuring by what percentage of Trump stories are positive/negative, the only metric that matters to him.
Some of the Windows phones had that feature. But the technology was still a bit clunky at the time.

By ‘mistake.’ Apparently we are at war with fisherman.

“Hurry mode” lol. I’m pretty sure every driving instruction manual ever made says something like “don’t drive like you’re in a hurry.”

Yeah and then in April-May-ish 2026 he drops most/all of the tariffs, creates another vertical spike. Declares the “Biden economy” finally over. With lots of good economy numbers heading into the 2026 election.

Butterfly collecting because you have to kill one to collect it.

Disability payments.
How does that work if there are more total people than total jobs?
